The MSUMBO is committed to unlocking opportunities for students eager to enter the music industry while uniting the passion of music enthusiasts. We created a platform where students can explore diverse aspects of the music business, engage with industry professionals, and gain real-life experiences. We aim to open doors for future careers and cultivate a vibrant community that shares a passion for music and its limitless possibilities. Wether you are an artist, producer, DJ, marketing guru, finance student, or even in nursing - if you love music, this is the place for you.
We meet bi-weekly in-person on Michigan State University’s campus in East Lansing, MI.

Note: Applicants do NOT have to be a music, business, or related major to be considered. All majors + interests are welcome.

THROUGH OUR BI-WEEKLY MEETINGS WITH INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, WE FOSTER A DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT FOR CREATIVE AND CRITICAL THINKING. THESE SESSIONS PROVIDE PERSONALIZED DISCUSSIONS, WHERE VALUABLE ADVICE IS SHARED, INSIGHTS ARE GAINED, AND A MOTIVATED ATMOSPHERE IS CULTIVATED. OUR AIM IS TO EMPOWER PARTICIPANTS TO EXPLORE INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND CONNECT DEEPLY WITH THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

OPPORTUNITIES ARE PRESENTED TO STUDENTS TO GET INVOLVED IN THE EAST LANSING MUSIC COMMUNITY AND BEYOND. THIS ENABLES THE FOSTERING OF TALENT AND PROVIDES A PLATFORM FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. BY CONNECTING WITH LOCAL ARTISTS AND INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, STUDENTS CAN EXPLORE NEW PATHWAYS, SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS, AND GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE THAT WILL HELP THEM EXCEL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.
